On the Dragon Boat Festival we went to a very cool Dinosaur Place!

It is all the way in Liao Ling Province (Northeast of Beijing).  It is 3 hours and 30 minutes high speed train ride to get to Liao Ling.

The Dinosaur Place is all the way in the mountains.  It is an hour and 30 minutes from the train station to get to the Dinosaur Place.

When you get there, there are three dinosaurs on the top of the roof.

There is this man and his name is Mr. Damien. Mr. Damien is the boss of the Dinosaur Place.  But Mr. Damien is not the boss he just owns the Dinosaur Place.  Mr. Damien is from France, just like my friend Leo.

When I got there Mr. Damien welcomed us.  We did not have lunch so when we got there we had some lunch.  It was very good.

You know you are supposed to go to the museum first, but we went the place that you dig up dinosaur bones.  It was very cool. There were three tools you must use, the first one: brush (a big paint brush), second thing: magnifying glass, third thing: scraper.  My dad and I found some very cool stuff.  Like:  my dad found this very long bone, but the bone was not there all there was, was a fasal of it.  There was like 3 foot prints from the dinosaurs, and my dad had a limit of where he could dig, because of the 3 foot prints.  Mr. Damien and Mr. Lodovic were going to put the 3 foot prints in the museum after 2 weeks. They said they would dig for my dad after they remove the 3 footprints.

After that we went to the museum and saw a lot of things. There were fish, birds, dinosaurs, plants and insects…

Then we had dinner it was dumplings.  It was very good.

Then we went to bed.  Do you know what a yurt is?  My family and I stayed in one of those. Is that cool?

My family and I had a great time!

I have learned some things that I would not learn if we have not gone there.  I learned that baby dinosaur’s feet could be so big! I never knew that there was this type of oil that could trap animals.   That is very sad. No one put it there.  The oil is was from a building that clasped.  I learned that there were bones from a long time ago.

Have you learned anything from this trip?  If so, what did you learn?

Panda's
I went to see the Panda's in Cheng Du.     There were very cute panda's.  There were 4 little baby ones and a big mommy. It was very funny to watch them play.   There was one of that baby's that climb on top of a tree and he/she kept on climbing, but there was no more tree trunk.  Is that funny?   There was once that one of that baby panda's came to the mom and wanted the mom to play with he/her.   We saw the red panda's.   There was one eating a carrot, one just sleeping, and there was on just running.  They were so cute!!!    It said to be quiet, but the Chinese just weren't quiet.      I saw a lot of things at a shop where you can buy:bags, book bags, pens, pencils......     We stade there for 3 hours. It was very easy to get a taxi.      I hope you can go there. It is the best place to go in Cheng Du.     Have a lot of fun!

There is a place called startrooper.  Startrooper is a laser tag place.  You can play many rounds.  There is this thing you have to  put on you and it is called gear, there are 5 things in the front, and there are 4 thing on the back.  You can not run in the game. Inside the game it is dark and there are dim lights. After about 10 minutes there is some fog that comes.  Before the game starts blue team can go in and hide. After 5 minutes the green team comes in.  There are big guns that that shoot lasers.  When you shoot it makes a shooting sound.  In the game they put music. At the place inside the game there are to place you can go into. At the end, they give you a piece a little paper it tells you how many people you shot, how many bullets you fired.   Hope you can have your birthday party there.

Thank you to all the people that came, and thank you for the presents.

The Iditarod happens the first Saturday in March.  There are people that take care of the dogs on the 964 mile track.  In my classroom we each pick a musher to keep track of until tje race it over.  Oh! What is a musher?  A musher is a person that takes care of the dogs, like feeds them amd gives them water on the 964 mile dog race.  The race starts from Anchorage, Alaska and it finishes in Nome, Alaska.  In the there must be a 24 hour rest sto for the dogs, it is mandatory.  It does not matter were the musher stops on the race, but you must stop at a checkpoint.

It does not matter how many mushers join the Iditarod. Right now there are a lot of mushers that have signed up.  I am looking at this site - http://iditarod.com.  I am looking at a few mushers.  I have learned about a few and here are their names: Kristy Beringen, Martin Buser, DeeDee Jonrowe, Bruce Linton, Lance Mackey, Anna Beringen, And Jeff King.  There are a lot more musher but I did not choose them.  Every year there can be the same musher like last time, only if they want to join again, and there can be new mushers.

If you want to do this race you need to take care of 16 dogs, this is how you take care of them in the race:
1. You need to take aabout a 2 hour rest for you and your dogs.  (Or longer.)
2. When the dogs rest they need to have strow under neath them so so they do not have to lay in the cold snow.
3. You need to give them water water with the food that you need them.
You know what is cool?  That when you get to a checkpoint there are big letters and whatever you last name's first letter is, is where you get your food.  If on dog gets sick or injured it has to drop out of the race, and after the race is over the dogs get to go back to their mushers.  In the race there are veterinarians and some other people that support the dogs.

We visited the turtle shelter in a Thailand Navy Golf Course.  Because sea turtles are endangered, people kill the sea turtles, there are some people that are killing the turtle eggs.  (Or something, I do not remember.)  The mother sea turtle haves her baby eggs on the sand, next the mother sea turtle goes back into to the sea, then when the baby sea turtles hatch, they go back into the sea.   When the sea turtles head their way back towards the sea, the have to face the really strong waves, and some of the sea turtles will die.  And that is very sad, new born babies have dead?!  And when the sea turtle is an adult they have to rise their own baby sea turtles, with a lot of other baby turtles.

The turtles can live until 100 years old.  Wow!!

There are a lot of different turtles.
Here is a small turtle.

This small turtle is resting.  And it is a green turtle, that is 15 days old.

Here is a two headed baby turtle.

My family and I went boogie boarding, and it was great!!!  (boogie Boarding is great!!)  (We did it in Khao Lak, Thailand  JW Marriot.)

My Dad and I tried to get the very good waves.  (I got a lot of great waves.)  P.S. (My Dad did too, he got three ina row.  Wow!)

In the picture I had a lot of salt water and it did not feel very good. :(  (But overall it was a beautiful day with sunshine, and blue sky!!)

My Dad saw some fish and I did not see them , but my dad did.  The color of the fish was blue, (and they were not flying.)

How do you get on the boogie board?
1. You get your boogie board.
2. You need to put on the strap.
3. You walk into the sea or ocean.
4. You get to the spot that is near shore.  (And you can go out a little bit more, but it is better if you go by shore.  So you can crash into the waves!!)
5. You hop onto you boogie board.
The really fun thing is!!!
6. Crash with the waves and go wooooooosh!!!!!
7. You will have a great time, and hope you can go to Khao Lak, Thailand!!!

On morning we were going to see the sunrise.  We were going to meet our Tuk Tuk driver at
5:30 a.m.  Daddy woke us up.  I was very sleepy but I got up.  We waited for our Tuk Tuk driver and he did not come.  We waited and waited and he still did not come.  Then Mommy looked at her watch, she said:"IT is only 4:30!!!!!!!!!"  Can you guess what happened???  Daddy set the alarm Beijing time.  (Cambodia time is 1 hour behind us.)

Picture
Many people were waiting for the sunrise, but the sun did not come out of the cloud.

We never had good luck with sunrise.  Once in Hawaii, we got on top of a mountain.  It was freezing cold.  And I was freezing to death.  And the sun did not come out!

Once my Mom got up early on Yellow Mountain to see sunrise.  And she could only see a bunch of people's heads.
So we are not going to see sunrises any more.

Angkor Wat
On our first day in Siem Reap, we went to the many temples around Angkor Wat.  Mr. Roma is the tour guide and he is from Siem Reap.
We also had a Tuk Tuk (a small taxi made from a motorcycle) driver who took us to  different areas.
On the way to Angkor Wat we saw a group of mischievous monkeys. They were eating and playing near the water.
Angkor Wat was built in 1113.  It took 30-35years to build Angkor Wat, and it took 4,000 elephants and 1 million people.  It was for the Hindu God.  (The Temple)
In the picture above, the middle door is for the King.  Side door is for the people.  And other side door is for the elephants.

Above is the moat for Angkor Wat.  It is much wider than the moat of Forbidden City.

There is a statue that has eight arms.
It is a Vishnu God.

When you enter the door, there are two libraries.  The library in this picture was to be used during the full moon.
The other library was used at other times.
The visitors first went to the library to learn manner.
Next, they took a bath in the pond.
Finally they could go to the temple.
